Throughout this semester I have learned a great deal about communication theory, my communication habits and tendencies, and how to be an other-oriented communicator. During this semester I began to instill the habit of the 'stop-look-listen' approach to improve my listening and comprehension abilities. These simple steps have proven to be a successful tool to enhance listening and to be able to focus on the verbal and nonverbal messages that are sent. I really enjoyed this semester and will take these lessons with me throughout my school and professional life.
Below is a paper that I wrote involving steps to effectively manage conflict. Being able to solve problems and skillfully manage conflict is just one of the many tools that I learned this semester. Please enjoy!
